IT'S JUST RHINO MAN...

Since the start of the poaching epidemic in 2008 South Africa has lost 2 000 rhinos- a figure that, despite so much effort increases everyday. Together withe increasing rhino poaching comes the question- Why after all this are we still losing more rhino than ever? Sadly only a few realise the challenges facing thiose on the frontlines. Thousands of killometres of patroling with little or idea of when and where the poachers plan to launch their next hit. At this stage, the poachers have the upper hand-they know when, they know how, and if need be they'll just coe back another day or hit a softer target.
Rhino families living in peace before the poaching epidemic began-before we lost more than 2000 rhinos here in South Africa.

Over 1600 known rhino have been poached in the last five years. There are only some 18 800 white and 4 880 black rhino left in South Africa, which is home to 74% of Africa's remaining rhino population.
This proble began and took its peak back in 2008 and has been on the incerease ever since. We think to ourselves "Arg man it's jut rhinos-what is all the fuss about"? But the truth is they too are are Go's gift to the world and its our duty as the human race to look out for them. So don't turn your back- visit media@stoprhinopoaching.com, and find out what YOU can do to help save our endangerd rhino spicies.

  1. Thank God for the Red Rhino horn campaign without that campaign people would not know how badly this poaching has increased. It saddens me to see what people do to animals especially our big 5.

  2. as the saying goes "made in Africa, killed for China" I believe the best initiative that can be taken is to educate Vietnam people that Rhino horns have no healing power and they are made from the same substance found in any persons finger and toe nails. Thanks for the blog Sammy

  3. It's so sad how the poachers have no mercy for the rhinos and kill them as if they are insects. It's all thanks to the Red Rhino Horn Campaign that the killing has decreased.
